I was having such an interesting conversation with some fellow coaches about our receiving skills. It’s a bit of a law of attraction term but basically a lot of us know what we want, we know what we want in life and we are very good at asking for it, very good at just putting it out there and saying to the universe ‘this is what I want to create’.
But sometimes we are not very good at receiving those things when they come our way and it’s just the simple things that we are doing each day that might be blocking these skills.
I was really inspired by an email by Lisa Marie Hayes about what do I do if the law of attraction is not working for me - 5 Things To Do After You Give Up On Deliberate Creation.
I have been having quite a lot of conversations with people who are already amazing manifestors but they can start getting stuck in that feeling of ‘it’s not working for me’, ‘I don’t know what to do, maybe I’m not asking for the right thing’, ‘maybe I’m not asking for things in enough detail’ - they just feel like there is something wrong with whatever they are asking the universe for or they’re are not allowing enough, all sorts of things could be going on in their mind.
‘The relief that we experience when we give ourselves permission to feel, can be the fastest path back to our joy’ ~ Joanne Mayhead
There is something I have noticed more and more with those of us who consciously work with the law of attraction (and other natural laws) and that is this – when it comes to our feelings, we have become pretty confused about what we are supposed to do – and dare I say a little ‘paranoid’ about it all as well!
As soon as we realise that we are conscious creators and that we can shape our reality from the inside out, we see every negative thought, bad mood or internal tug of war as a bad thing.
We start to worry about what we are manifesting.
How to have an attitude of gratitude...
‘Gratitude is a way of BEING, not doing’ – Joanne Mayhead
Take a moment and think back over your life so far. Without even knowing it, most of us have had an attitude of gratitude throughout our lives, even on a subconscious level. Our evidence is simple, it is all the amazing people, situations and experiences we have attracted into our lives already, much of it without any conscious effort at all.
Even some of our Story ‘contrast’ through the things we don’t want in life is a result of our subconscious gratitude and appreciation and has been a way of moving us away from things that aren’t serving us any more towards something better…..
Are there parts of your life that you really want to change but can’t work out how? Is your life starting to feel like a constant re-run of an old film where you know exactly what is going to happen and how it is going to end up? Are you tired of repeating the same old patterns that keep you feeling stuck?
If you answered yes to any of these questions, then it could be time to make a decision to finally ‘change your story’ – yes you know, that one that you keep telling yourself in your head every day or keep talking about to others…
