I saw a beautiful quote shared by 'Becoming Minimalist'. A quote that really made me stop and consider a lot of different things whilst we are all staying at home to do our part in restoring the world's health.
The quote was this:
"In the rush to return to normal, use this time to consider which parts of normal are worth rushing back to." ~ Dave Hollis
In a world that is very much focused on what is 'not' going well (understandably so if you are personally affected by it in any way) and a life that has changed dramatically for so many, it is bound to feel uncertain.
But this quote really spoke to me - after 2 weeks of being mainly at home, adapting to working from home, My husband and I home schooling the kids, limiting my connection with the outside world to the odd short, very early morning walk and lots of virtual chats and having little time to myself, I have started to settle into this and feel differently about it.
That underlying fraught, worry and stress has given way to something else - many of my moments throughout the day are starting to feel very different. They are shifting from a mind that is racing and busy to a deep sense of peace, stillness and connection to the world..
In a way that is hard to explain...
And it's hard to describe, but it feels like peace. It feels like 'all is well', it feels like 'I have' - 'we have' an opportunity to hit the reset button, not only on our own lives but also on the world as a whole.
Something inside of me feels like this 'pandemic' is the world pushing back. Telling us that we are not treating it and each other well enough. Telling us that things have to change - almost like it is asking us to develop a new level of love and respect for each other and for this amazing planet we call home throughout this lifetime.
So whilst we are where we are, now is the time to choose to look at life through a different lens. Because the more people who do this, the higher our vibration will be. The higher our vibration, the quicker the world is going to bounce back from this.
There is a huge shift happening right now and we have a big opportunity - every single one of us. Never underestimate the power of a collective consciousness. Alone we can do amazing things, together we can work miracles. Don't forget that thoughts are energy too!
We have the opportunity to choose what we want our new normal to look like.
So if you could hit that reset button, what would your world look like. What would your new normal be? If you could change anything about life or your approach to it, what would that look like?
For me it's definitely more about my way of being and the way I react to things....
And we don't need to wait for a pandemic to choose a new way of being, we can do it anytime... but sometimes it's when we are forced to stop and take some time, like we need to right now so that we can choose our new normal deliberately and consciously - instead of reacting to the world by default.
So what is your new normal?
