Alignment isn't just about feeling good. It's also about how we align with our thoughts, feelings and beliefs and one way of doing this is to change or enhance who we are being.It can really help to think of someone that you admire, either someone in your life or someone in the public eye who you would like to be more like. What is one quality that this person has which you would like to invite into your life.
I always get the urge to declutter before the festive season and getting rid of the old feels so good and makes way for the new to come in. Decluttering has so many benefits and these reach much further than just the nice feeling of having a clean spacious room. Physically, saving the extra minutes everyday trying to find things, housework feeling a lot easier, letting go of the idea that we always need extra storage and being able to enjoy the stuff we love feels so good in itself!
So let's talk about what we must to to achieve our goals - especially as if like me you are starting to set yourself a lot of stretch goals at the moment. A lot of us set goals but there are some mistakes that we make along the way that can stop us achieving them or cause us to give up on them too quickly. Here we explore some of these mistakes and why they may be sabotaging your efforts. These areas are: Not loving 'what is', focusing on the loss or absence of something, focusing on how far you have to go,
So here's another way that you may be sabotaging your manifestation mojo without even realising it. You may see the universe as something separate from yourself! Now this has it's place and seeing the universe as a separate entity can really help when you are doing some fun manifestation practices. And although we know deep down that we need to take 100% responsibility for our life, we do start to rely too much on that thought that the universe miraculously delivers us anything we want on a plate. So we start to see the universe as this big wishing well instead of it being an alignment practice but this can cause us to be separate from it all. We hand over the responsibility to this higher power when WE ARE that higher power. Everything comes from inside! We are the creators of our world.
If you are anything like me, you may have become obsessed with conscious creation and universal laws to a certain extent. Whether you are fairly new to the concept or have been studying manifestation for years, you will know that finding quicker and easier ways to align with your desires can be quite addictive. But as amazing as it is to know and understand how we create our own reality, there is also a downside and that is...We may simply know too much about it all!And why is this a downside? So we all get that monkey mind, you know that part of your mind that thinks obsessive repetitive thoughts, that chatters constantly, that is always telling you how wrong you are, that you shouldn't have said something, that's constantly niggling at you, that tells you you are stupid, that makes your mind race with thoughts that don't even serve you and so on...To calm your monkey mind, you need to embrace it and make peace with it and accept it but there are also times when we need to let go of those thoughts when they don't feel good and this is how we can start to do that.
A few weeks ago I changed my 'to do' list to a 'get to do' list. I did this because I found myself getting overwhelmed and frustrated with my long list of to dos and decided to see how it felt to re-frame this. My 'get to do' list helps me to be more appreciative of all the things I have in my life, all the freedom that I experience in so many areas and how much I have access to in my life. Try this and see how your attitude changes when you appreciate that you get to do all those things when so many people in this world just aren't as lucky as you.
How often do you beat yourself up and agonise over every little thing - maybe something you said or a situation where you felt you weren't your best self for some reason. But how about we all just celebrate the fact that we are human and recognise that messing up sometimes is just all part of this beautiful experience. As long as we are doing our best with the highest good of others in mind, we need to drop that shame energy and just be at ease with this human side of us.
So society (at least as I know it), encourages us to suppress our emotions. Logic is revered above all else but I don't think we should suppress them - in fact suppressing feelings can be bad for our health in general as they fester inside us.So whilst you don't want to be an emotional wreck wherever you go, you need to be able to feel your feelings in some way - we all need an outlet of some sort. So here are some ideas that might help you to express your emotions in a safe and effective way.
Affirmations don't work if you are feeling the total opposite inside, especially if you don't believe that they are true - this is a bit frustrating, especially when we create affirmations to help us achieve or be more. In this episode I talk about how to create affirmations that feel good to you and that are believable. With just a few tweaks and playing with the words you can create affirmations that you feel totally aligned with so that you can easily drop that resistance.
Our feelings are everything when it comes to our alignment. You may have heard the phrase 'thoughts become things' but its only really part of the story. Its not just what we think, its what we are feeling as a result of this thought. This is why some affirmations don't work, because we don't feel like we are aligned to them and life is a mirror after all - so trying too hard to affirm something that doesn't feel true means you are affirming the absence of it instead.
So lets talk more about this concept of BE-DO-HAVE because this makes a huge difference in so many areas of our life. Most of us do this back to front. We think that when I HAVE a certain thing, then I will DO this and then I will BE happy or whatever.But this just isn't how it works. We must BE the energy of what we want before we can HAVE it. So we need to BE that energy state and DO what someone who has that thing has already, and then we will HAVE what we want because we are aligned to it. This stops you holding everything apart from you in this future state. We will continue to explore this in some future episodes with more real examples that can help you.
I am so having fun with this little phrase - not just when I recorded this but I have also carried this on ever since. My lovely friend sent this to me when I needed it most (thank you lovely friend - you know who you are!) and this phrase was TGIF - Thank God I'm Fabulous - and I decided the very next day to start adding this to all my sentences, especially my self talk and it makes me smile every time I do it. I have been in a bit of a funk myself this past few days as you may have noticed from a couple of my podcasts but this is totally normal, we all get like it from time to time - perfection not required after all....even when we are conscious creators! Here are three ways that I used yesterday to get out of my funk and I hope they help you to make a shift if you are just having one of those days.
Sometimes we just don't see eye to eye with others and it can feel like they are just being difficult for no reason but we often forget that others are just a mirror for what is going on inside of us. If our energy is on a certain vibrational frequency then you are going to attract that energy from others around you. They are just a mirror for how you are feeling at that very moment.
How can you see the gifts in the contrast when life doesn't feel like it's going that well? Often the only way past a challenge is though it and the quickest way to get through it is to see those gifts in the contrast which helps to re-frame and neutralise the energy that is otherwise being fed by our sheer overwhelm and constant attention.
So many of us use a 'to do' list throughout our day with varying levels of success - all very useful and I love them myself! However, there is something that is even more important and powerful than this which is often overlooked and that is starting our day with a 'to be' list.So deciding who we want to be each day can help us set some powerful intentions that guides our energy and outcome and in this podcast we go through a few examples of how this can really help that energy shift into a better place.
So what about those days where you are overwhelmed, tired, worn out and don't feel like you have much energy to give. Well sometimes we just have to suck it up and do our best to turn it all around. We get to set our intentions for our day so instead of spending the whole day moaning to everyone around us about how we feel, we can decide that it is going to be a great day anyway - as much as possible based on our energy levels anyway.
